The newly-renovated Hotel Minca also known as La Casona is waiting for you! Our colonial-style hotel offers 13 rooms with private bathrooms and 50 years of hotel tradition. The ancient Tayrona road that runs alongside our driveway is evidence of the site being in use many years prior to the construction of this former convent.
Minca is the coolest town in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Located only 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) from the hot and buzzing city of Santa Marta, Minca's waterfalls, river pools and shade coffee plantations offer a tranquil escape into the countryside of Colombia.
All rooms at Hotel Minca have been recently remodelled and feature private bathrooms. We offer single, double, or triple rooms to suit your needs, surrounded by a wide veranda fitted with hammocks.
The hotel is set in over four acres of mature forest and gardens, and our fruit and hummingbird feeders attract over 40 species of birds. Minca itself lies at the gateway to the world-famous ProAves El Dorado reserve, and many visiting international birding and wildlife tourism groups stay with us on their way up.
We offer restaurant service with a mixture of local Colombian dishes and international cuisine. Vegetarian options are available. Breakfast is included with your stay and we offer laundry service and Wi-Fi internet connection.
Although there is no ATM, we are able, for a fee, to provide a cash dispensing service using a credit card via an online Paypal system.
